Absence: UK Border Agency 10 Day Rule
Absence processing has been added to Class to meet new UK Border Agency requirements for mandatory reporting of students who breach their Visa conditions by being "unauthorised" absent from school for more than 10 continuous days.
Class has been enhanced to assist you with this and this new feature has been included within the Attendance Module. We are holding free of charge short presentations on 9, 10 & 11 November to demonstrate the features of both the Attendance and Absence Recording. Each presentation will take approximately 30 minutes.

Also, on this subject, we are working closely with a local school to finalise to Bulk File Transfer Export/Import option for the on-line SMS system and we hope to have this new feature in Class soon. A new version of Class will also be announced shortly which includes some improvements (based on user feedback) on the current Points Based System process and validation checking.
Some New Features
Tips & Tricks Corner!
Academic
Automatic Classing - Direct from booking!
Students can be classed (into the future) directly from the booking entry.
What Courses?
Any course, although it has maximum benefit where the course automatically defines the class in which the student will be taught e.g. a course not requiring level testing.
Other options
Even with general English courses, which may require level testing prior to classing, it may be helpful to pre-class students into a "new GE students" class, so academics can clearly see the inflow of new students (and extensions) out into the future. From the automatic classing "move" screen (using the drag/drop) the students can then be moved to the most appropriate class.
With imagination more useful breakdowns may be achievable!
How?
In summary (for those familiar with Class) the following is required:
- Set up any extra classes that may be required e.g. New Course X students, New Cambridge Students, etc.
- Link the class to all the relevant courses. You're now ready - all new bookings will be automatically classed!
