Infospeed has been building software for language schools since 1981. Class has been at the heart of the industry since 1989.

Our Story

Built by language school people, for language school people

Infospeed Ltd was founded by accountants Graham Hacker and Carol Davies, who had extensive experience in the language school sector. They saw first-hand the administrative burden schools faced - and built Class to solve it.

Since 1989, Class has grown from a DOS-based system to a modern, cloud-hosted platform - but the mission has never changed: give language schools the tools to run efficiently, accurately, and confidently.

In 2019, Infospeed was acquired by Embrace Software Inc., a Canadian company specialising in niche software. Embrace brought accelerated development capabilities while preserving the product and the team our customers know and trust.

Infospeed founded

Established in the UK by accountants with deep language school sector experience.

1989
Class launched

First customer: Kings School Bournemouth, still using Class today.

2002
Class SQL

Rebuilt on Microsoft SQL Server with ledger, SMS, and online booking capabilities.

2012
Class.NET

A new .NET platform introduced a more modern UI and stronger operational tooling.

2017
Class Cloud

Moved to a cloud-hosted subscription model accessible from anywhere.

2019
Embrace acquisition and Class Web

Infospeed joined Embrace Software Inc. and released the first browser-based Class Web experience.

2020
Class Web expands

Documents, reports, and the first agent and student portals were added.

2023
Advanced academics and timetabling

Class Web gained richer academic workflows and timetabling tools.

2025
AI-powered reporting

The sales dashboard gained AI-powered insights, alongside enhanced ledger reporting.
